What makes me ME?

Pokka bounced around happily, so excited, she couldn't sit still for one second.
Pokka was a girl standing at 151cm tall. She loved to listening to music and is currently a Concert Band member. She alighted the bus and off she went to her new school. Although Pokka was already 13, mother still couldn't bare to leave her. Smiling at her lovable child, she said, "Remember, don't get in trouble, okay?" Pokka answered while running to school, "Of course I won't, bye bye mummy!"

School started with a morning assembly and some briefing by the principal. It was recess once the briefing was done.

During recess she would gather with some of her friends in the canteen, gossiping about teachers, classmates and the principal. Pokka loved her new school as there are nice teachers in Henderson. As the bell rang, Pokka and her friends shuffled noisily into their classrooms.

In class, Pokka was eager to find out who her teachers were. She met many unfamiliar faces in her class, but she sat alone as she hardly knew anyone. As her teacher, Ms Tan walked into the classroom, Pokka sighed with relief, knowing that her teacher doesn't look fierce.

In her first lesson, Ms Tan started a game called, 'Ice Breaker' they had to introduce themselves to one another. By this, they'll get to know one another more. Before she knew it, it was already 1.30, which was time to go home.

Rushing out of school, Pokka took the bus home to have an afternoon nap.

First experience in my new Secondary School
Well, I was pretty excited to go to school. No reasons why. At 7.00a.m, my brother and I were already ready, waiting at the bus stop.
But unlucky us, the bus driver didn't stop the bus, as it was already filled to the brim. That was the first bus, the second bus wasn't as crowded as the first one. I saw my friends in the bus, but the people in front of us boarded the bus first. And there was no more space for us left. So we had no choice but to wait for the next one.

As it was the first day of school, I didn't wanted to give a bad impression, so I suggested to my brother to take a taxi. While we were waiting for a taxi, another bus came, and YES finally there were space for us and guess what? There were only seven person in the bus. The bus was fast enough to catch up with the previous one.
Lucky, I'm NOT late! The principal, Mrs Yeo started to talk about HSS rules and regulations. After that, we went to the hall for another briefing of the school. She introduced us the four short forms.

We had to keep this in mind. She even said that when someone is talking, our backs shouldn't face that person as it'll be rude to do so. Mrs Yeo asked questions and some of us had to volunteer to answer them. The time we've all been waiting for, RECESS!
I went to find Cindy, a friend of mine in secondary 2. I only bought drinks as there wasn't much time left. Sat with my friends from my previous school. We shared how boring or exciting our classes are.
Went back to 1E2 after the bell rang. There was an Ice Breaker. Its something that helps you understand more about one another.
My Form Teacher, Mdm Kwok introduced herself. I can see that she has a nice and friendly character. Our sitting arrangement is according to height. So I sat with Farhana. A girl who is friendly and polite.
At first, I was too shy to say " Hi " Well, she was the one who started the introduction. And all I have to say is copy whatever she says. Thats how the conversation started. It wasn't as hard as I imagined.
After school, my friends and I went to McDonald to have lunch. And that's all for the day.
First day of school, living my friends back in Primary School and finding new ones in HSS.

Orientation Camp
This is the first time I'm not excited but afraid of camps, because there are rumours of HSS being haunted. I went to school knowing that it was CCA day. I'm crazy about band but I don't know why.
After assembly, we went to the hall. Mr Zubi taught us some cheers and songs of Henderson. I already know most of the cheers as I learnt them during my P5 camp. We were freezing in hall while cheering and cheering.
During recess I went to find my friends, we chatted while eating and we were all hoping to sleep in the same room.
After recess there was a Alife programme that Sec 1s & 2s have together. Miss Wu showed us a video about a woman who has no arms living her everyday life. Most of us were touched as it would take years to master how to eat, work and change clothes with our legs. And that video taught me how lucky I am, born with arms and legs. We did worksheets after watching the video.
After which, we had our lunch. The moment I've been waiting for has finally arrived, our orientation programme. I shall skip the part that doesn't consent me. Band!
All of us watching the fantastic band performance.

After we saw the entire CCAs introduction, we gathered back at the hall so Mr Zubi can tell us where to go.
For my class, we went outside the Staff Room to practice.
Practice makes perfect!

All of us were starving hence there wasn't enough energy for us to cheer.
Dinner is ready!

I was glad at first but after looking at the food, I lost my appetite. The rice was too hard.
After we ate our dinner, it was time for Campfire, but before that rules first!

We sang and cheered till our throats were dry. Each class had to do a skit. Well, it was quite boring actually.
Principal's speech and declaring that the campfire had come to an end.

We had our supper and had our bath after that. I slept at 12+ due to the noise in the corridors.

The next day, I woke up at 6.15a.m as I couldn't sleep any longer; I brushed my teeth and changed quickly. I ran to the canteen thinking that I'm late. For breakfast, we had Nasi Lemak. But then again, the rice was too hard.
We went around to play some games.

  1. Animals names pasted on our backs. Have to sort ourselves into groups without talking.
  2. We had to fix puzzles of the newspapers.
  3. Skip together.
  4. Hold hands and form a circle. Pass a hoola hoop without breaking our hands.
  5. Pass the bucket with our foot.
  6. Groups have to step into the clothe which will be getting smaller and smaller.
  7. Something like twister but requires teamwork.
I've been waiting to get my phone back so I can look at the time. I can't live without my phone!

Winners *drum rolls*

1E4 - Best class for campfire

1E1 - Best class for games

And that's all!
